“I Am Afraid for My Safety” – Skales Expresses Concern

Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, widely recognized as Skales, a well-known artist, has recently disclosed that he and his family are living in a constant state of fear. His apprehension is a direct result of an intrusion by agents of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) into his home.

It is essential to remember that Skales was unjustly accused by the EFCC of involvement in fraudulent activities after he publicly criticized the agency for the earlier break-in at his residence.

During a recent interview on the Terms & Conditions podcast, Skales underscored the profound unease that now permeates his life. He indicated that he has been receiving threats ever since he spoke out against the anti-corruption agency.

Skales conveyed that he and his family are ensnared in a persistent state of anxiety, triggered by the recent intrusion into his home by EFCC operatives. This event unfolded after Skales had called out the EFCC weeks ago for the unlawful entry into his house and the baseless allegations of his involvement in fraudulent activities.

In his discussion on the most recent episode of the Terms & Conditions podcast, Skales made it clear that he continues to move about freely, asserting his innocence. He also mentioned that one of his associates, who was apprehended during the raid on his residence, remains in custody.

He said,

“The EFCC operatives that invaded my house didn’t have a search warrant. Obviously, they were illegal.
“My problem with the EFCC guys is not even the fact that they are not doing what they were paid for.
“They are now using the power to oppress people. They are oppressing me right now. I am scared for my life, I won’t lie to you. I’m scared but at the same time, I know I’m clean, that’s why I’m moving around.”
