Nigerian artist Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz The Bahdguy, recently recounted a harrowing experience from a decade ago involving his Bhad Guys band. Reflecting on a near-death encounter in 2013 between Abuja and Lokoja, Falz shared that the incident occurred following their first N1 million performance in Abuja, as they were en route to another gig in Benin.
According to the artist, their vehicle fell victim to an attack by five gunmen. Tragically, the driver lost his life immediately, leaving the vehicle uncontrollably careening until it crashed into a forest. Upon regaining consciousness, the group encountered a hoodlum who demanded money from them.
Despite asserting their lack of funds, Falz and his band faced threats from the hoodlum and the gunmen. However, the situation took a turn when they fled upon hearing police sirens approaching. The artist expressed gratitude for the timely intervention of the police, as several passing private cars had initially declined to assist them in reaching the hospital.
In a recent episode of the Untapped Podcast, Falz revealed that he and his band members still bear physical scars from the injuries sustained during that traumatic incident.
