The Katsina State Hisbah Board has destroyed seized alcohol and other illicit drugs valued at N60 million in Funtua Local Government Area.
The Hisbah Commander, Dr. Aminu Usman, revealed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Katsina on Sunday, July 21, 2024. According to Usman, over 1,750 crates of alcohol and approximately 33 jerry cans of locally brewed beer were recently confiscated and destroyed in Funtua.
Dr. Usman explained that this action aligns with their mission to promote good morals among the residents of the state. He praised the board’s officials for their dedication and urged them to continue their efforts with even greater commitment.
He also called for the support of religious leaders, emphasizing that Hisbah is not affiliated with any particular group or sect.
The Hisbah commander expressed gratitude to Governor Dikko Radda for his unwavering support in enabling the board to fulfill its duties.
Usman appealed to the public to provide the board with reliable information about locations where immoral activities occur. He also urged parents, teachers, and community leaders to reinforce discipline and good morals among the youth in their communities.
