  1. Acting Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, was sworn in as the substantive governor following the death of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu. Akeredolu, aged 67, passed away while undergoing treatment for prostate cancer in a German hospital.
  2. The Federal Government, through the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), has fined British American Tobacco and its affiliate companies $110m for alleged infringements of various laws, including the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act and National Tobacco Control Act.

  10. A policeman attached to the Imo State Police Command, Cosmas Ugwu, was shot dead by his 23-year-old girlfriend, Amanda Uchechi Ugo. The incident occurred on Tuesday in Imo State.
