President Bola Tinubu responded on Tuesday to the passing of Chief George Uwechue, Owelle of Ogwashi-Ukwu, Delta State. Chief Uwechue, a distinguished Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), passed away recently at the age of 85.
Expressing his condolences, Tinubu conveyed sympathy to the Uwechue family and the Nigerian legal community. In a statement issued by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Tinubu acknowledged Uwechue’s significant contributions and lamented the loss of the elder statesman.
Tinubu praised Uwechue as an ‘outstanding lawyer and a leader,’ highlighting his profound insights and legal expertise. The President concluded the statement by offering prayers for God Almighty to grant the departed soul eternal rest and to provide the bereaved family with the strength to endure this painful loss.
