Hamas has denied Israel’s claim that they were responsible for the deadly Gaza hospital bombing, calling it an “outrageous lie.” The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) produced an audio clip in which two alleged Hamas members discuss the incident and suggest that the rocket came from Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), a separate jihadist group. In the clip, one alleged Hamas member questions if the rocket belonged to PIJ, and the other one appears to confirm this, suggesting that it misfired and hit the hospital.
Israeli officials also released a video showing a rocket changing course in the air before striking the al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza City. They argue that this evidence, along with infrared images and intelligence documents, indicates that the damage could not have come from an Israeli strike. The IDF spokesperson, Daniel Hagari, stated that the hospital blast was caused by an Islamic Jihad rocket misfire, and he accused Hamas of launching a media campaign to blame Israel for the incident.
The IDF and Israeli officials maintain that they do not intentionally strike sensitive facilities, including hospitals, and they attributed the hospital explosion to the failed rocket launch by Islamic Jihad. Hamas, on the other hand, disputes this claim.
It’s important to note that this information is based on the statements and evidence presented by the involved parties, and the situation remains a matter of ongoing dispute.
