Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, apprehended individuals riding motorcycles in the wrong direction along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway. The incident occurred as the governor was en route to the inauguration of the Femi Gbajabiamila Conference Centre at the Ojo campus of Lagos State University (LASU) on Tuesday.
A video, now widely circulated on the internet, captures Governor Sanwo-Olu disembarking from his vehicle with his security team to personally arrest the erring motorbike rider. The footage was shared by the governor’s media aide, Wale Ajetunmobi, who captioned it, “Governor Sanwo-Olu effecting the arrest of the offending officer.”
During the confrontation, as the offenders were being taken into custody by security personnel, Sanwo-Olu remarked, “Put him there, let your father come and rescue you.” One of the individuals, claiming to be a soldier, responded, “I am a soldier, Oga sir.” In reply, the governor asserted, “That’s the more reason I’m going to lock you up. You are telling me you are a soldier. Useless boy. You are telling me you are a soldier. Lock him up.”
