Governor Bago reveals Niger State’s strategy to achieve a revenue target of N1 trillion.

Governor Umar Bago of Niger State has expressed optimism that his administration is poised to achieve a remarkable revenue milestone of N1 trillion. This substantial financial achievement is anticipated to materialize over the next five years, primarily driven by the activities of the Niger Food Security and Logistics Company.

Abdullberqy Ebbo, the Special Adviser on Digital Media and Strategy to the Governor, conveyed this significant development in a statement released on Saturday in Abuja. Ebbo highlighted that the ambitious revenue target is intricately linked to the operations of the Niger Food Security and Logistics Company, which is expected to catalyze economic growth and create employment opportunities.

The statement emphasized that the initiative aims to engage more than 100,000 farmers, fostering agricultural activities across an expansive 100,000 hectares of land throughout the state. This strategic endeavor is not only anticipated to contribute substantially to the state’s revenue but also to address unemployment by providing a livelihood for a considerable number of individuals.

The announcement also revealed the formalization of an agreement between Mr. Sammy Adigun, the Chairman of Niger Foods, and Sadik Kassim, the Executive Director of TGI Group—a notable commodity off-takers firm. The signing ceremony was witnessed by distinguished personalities, including the Chairman of Union Bank and the Executive Vice Chairman of TGI Group, Malam Faruk Gumel, underscoring the collaborative and multi-stakeholder nature of this economic venture.
