Frustrated GoTV subscribers demand refunds following channel blackout

GoTV Subscribers Outraged Over Channel Outage

GoTV subscribers, particularly football fans, were left frustrated and demanding compensation after multiple channels suddenly disappeared on Tuesday night. The outage, which affected sports channels like SS BLITZ Africa, SS Football Africa, and SS La Liga Africa, coincided with the return of the Champions League.

The disruption was caused by a severe power failure on Saturday at the Intelsat 33e satellite, which serves Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and parts of the Asia-Pacific. MultiChoice, GoTV’s parent company, is among the affected customers.

Subscribers expressed disappointment and frustration with the service interruption, criticizing MultiChoice for failing to communicate the disruption promptly. Football viewing center owners and individual subscribers alike were unable to watch their favorite teams on Tuesday night due to the outage.

Many subscribers are demanding compensation from MultiChoice for the service failure, citing the inconvenience and financial losses incurred. The company’s spokesperson, Caroline Oghuma, has stated that MultiChoice is working to restore services for all its customers.
