FAAN Conducts Successful Air Crash Simulation Exercise

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) conducted a successful air crash simulation exercise at Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, on Thursday. The exercise aimed to assess the readiness of the Aerodrome Rescue and Fire Fighting Service (ARFFS) to respond to emergencies.

The simulation involved a Boeing 737 aircraft that skidded off the runway upon landing, resulting in a fuel leak and fire. ARFFS personnel promptly responded to the incident, extinguishing the fire and rescuing the 45 passengers and crew members onboard.

FAAN officials praised the efficiency of the response team, highlighting their ability to reach the scene within two minutes and extinguish the fire within three minutes. The exercise demonstrated the organization’s commitment to ensuring passenger safety and maintaining high standards of emergency response.
