Exciting Comeback: Barcelona Coach Flick Thrilled About De Jong’s Return Ahead of Young Boys Clash! ⚽️🎉

De Jong’s Much-Anticipated Return

Barcelona’s head coach, Hansi Flick, is thrilled to announce that midfielder Frenkie de Jong is back in the squad after recovering from an ankle injury. This comes just in time for their Champions League match against Young Boys on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old Dutch international has been sidelined since April and missed this summer’s European Championship due to his injury. Flick confirmed that De Jong will be included in the lineup and is ready for a brief appearance.

Flick’s Praise for De Jong

“This is fantastic news to have Frenkie back with us! Whether it’s for five or ten minutes, he’s crucial for our team,” Flick shared during a press conference on Monday.

He further praised De Jong’s positive attitude, stating, “He’s been actively involved with the team and is eager to contribute. We really needed his presence.”

While De Jong may not be ready for a full 45 minutes, Flick believes that even a short stint on the field will be beneficial. “He’s gonna be ready for 20 or 10 minutes, and that will do him a lot of good.”

Team’s Injury Update

Barcelona continues to face challenges with several key players still out due to injuries, including Gavi and Ronald Araujo. Additionally, Eric Garcia is suspended after receiving a red card in their Champions League opener against Monaco.

The Catalan giants faced a disappointing loss against the Ligue 1 side and have struggled in European competitions in recent years. Last season, they reached the quarter-finals for the first time in four seasons, but they have not lifted the Champions League trophy since 2015.

Positive Outlook Ahead

“We aim to win every game, and I’m very optimistic about our chances,” Flick added. “We train hard and play entertaining football. If we need to regain the respect of our opponents, we’ll put in the work!”
