Former Premier League star Clinton Morrison has urged Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino to offload underperforming players following their 2-0 defeat to Everton.
In Sunday’s Premier League clash at Goodison Park, Chelsea suffered a setback, causing Pochettino’s team to slip to 12th place in the league standings.
Players such as Moises Caicedo, Marc Cucurella, Nicolas Jackson, Enzo Fernandez, and Conor Gallagher were notably below par in their performance. Abdoulaye Doucoure and Lewis Dobbin scored the decisive goals for Everton.
Morrison, expressing his views on Sky Sports, pointed out the lack of midfield support when defending. He highlighted Gallagher’s inability to stop Dwight McNeil and emphasized the need for better defensive awareness.
While praising Everton’s goals, especially Doucoure’s, Morrison criticized the Chelsea players for being nowhere near the opposition during key moments. He emphasized the significant challenge facing Pochettino in managing a squad with several players who may need to be offloaded.
