EPL: “It’s Criminal, A Disaster” – Simpson Criticizes Dalot After Manchester United’s 3-0 Loss

Simpson Slams Dalot’s Performance in Manchester United’s 3-0 Defeat

Former Premier League defender Danny Simpson has heavily criticized Manchester United right-back Diogo Dalot following the team’s 3-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Sunday. Simpson pointed out Dalot’s failure to properly defend against Brennan Johnson, which led to Spurs’ opening goal.

Speaking on MUTV, Simpson noted that Dalot was too slow to react and failed to track Johnson’s run, leaving the Tottenham forward with too much space to score.

“I saw the cross coming, and for Brennan Johnson to have that much space at the back post—it’s criminal,” Simpson stated. “That’s Dalot’s position. He needs to recover quicker. For the first few minutes, it was a disaster.”

Simpson further criticized United’s overall defensive reaction, adding, “We’ve got to be better at closing space, reacting, and shuffling across. Ugarte could have reacted faster, but by the time he did, it was already too late.”
