Sporting Lisbon head coach Ruben Amorim has clarified rumors regarding his potential appointment as Pep Guardiola’s successor at Manchester City. With Guardiola’s contract set to expire next summer and no negotiations for a renewal yet in place, speculation about his future has intensified.
The recent appointment of Hugo Viana, a close associate of Amorim, as City’s next director of football has further fueled these rumors. However, Amorim firmly stated in an interview with Cabine Desportiva, “Hugo Viana and I have different and separate paths. His appointment doesn’t mean that I’m going to Manchester City. We just have a very professional relationship, which will not last forever.”
