EPL: “A Game-Changer for Arsenal’s Title Aspirations,” Says Wright-Phillips

Former Manchester City star Shaun Wright-Phillips has singled out Declan Rice as the player who can bolster Arsenal’s pursuit of the Premier League title this season.

Wright-Phillips is firmly of the opinion that Rice will assume a pivotal role in Arsenal’s quest for the title this season, emphasizing that the English midfielder’s acquisition is a significant coup for Mikel Arteta’s squad.

It’s worth noting that Arsenal secured Rice’s services from West Ham United during the summer transfer window. Since his arrival at the Emirates, the 24-year-old has been in fine form, notching two goals and providing one assist in 13 appearances across all competitions for Arsenal.

Wright-Phillips expressed his perspective, stating, “I’m not overly concerned with my defensive midfielder scoring goals, as long as they fulfill their primary duties and maintain the team’s structure.”

He further commented, “However, Rice has absorbed criticism and now he’s notching goals—crucial goals that shift the momentum of games. He’s also exhibiting remarkable control in matches, displaying excellent positioning, and effectively tidying up the play.”

In Wright-Phillips’ view, Rice’s presence in the Arsenal lineup is a substantial asset. If the Gunners have genuine ambitions of securing the Premier League title this year, he firmly believes that Rice will play a pivotal role in making that aspiration a reality.
