Enyimba’s captain, Ojo Olorunleke, is determined to lead his team to victory against Wydad Athletic Club in Casablanca. The Nigerian champions suffered a 1-0 defeat in the first leg of the quarter-final clash in Uyo last weekend. Finidi George’s squad is now set to face the Red Castle in the return fixture at the Stade Mohamed V in Casablanca on Thursday night.
Enyimba faces the challenging task of scoring two goals without conceding in order to secure a spot in the semi-finals. They will be contending with a passionate home crowd at the magnificent stadium.
Despite the odds, Olorunleke remains optimistic about overcoming the obstacles and advancing to the next stage of the competition. In a pre-match press conference on Wednesday night, the goalkeeper expressed his confidence: “We came here to achieve victory. We are ready and confident, we have spoken together. We faced some difficulties and challenges before coming here, but we are a professional team and we can’t complain. We are here to win and qualify. We want to defeat Wydad like they did in the first leg.”
