Enyimba Fight Back But Settle for a Draw Against Zamalek
Nigerian giants Enyimba battled back from a two-goal deficit to secure a 2-2 draw against Zamalek in their CAF Confederation Cup group stage match on Sunday.
The Egyptian side took a commanding lead in the first half, with Seifeddine Jaziri and Omar Faraj finding the net. However, Enyimba refused to give up. Ifeanyi Ihemekwele pulled one back before the break, and Chinedu Ufere completed the comeback in the 57th minute.
Despite dominating the latter stages of the game, Enyimba couldn’t find the winning goal. This leaves them with just one point from two matches, placing them third in Group D.
Enyimba will now shift their focus to domestic action, facing Sunshine Stars in the NPFL on Wednesday. They will then travel to Mozambique to take on Black Bulls next Sunday.
