Egbeda/Ona-Ara: Reps Aspirant Akinola Kazeem Attends APC Meeting, Appreciates Party Members

House of Representatives hopeful for Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency, Hon. Akinola Kazeem, joined members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday, May 3, for a key party meeting held at Elekuro High School, Olorunsogo.

The gathering drew a large turnout, including party executives from Egbeda and Ona-Ara local governments, influential stakeholders, and members across all 11 wards in Ona-Ara LGA.

Prior to this, Hon. Kazeem had held strategic meetings with party leaders in both LGAs, consolidating support ahead of his 2027 bid.

APC Chairman in Ona-Ara LGA, Alhaji Prince Abdulwasiu Kolawole Ogundipe, expressed gratitude for the safety and unity of party members, commending the leadership of the APC in Oyo State under Alhaji Olaide Abas. He warmly welcomed Hon. Kazeem, urging members to uphold peace, love, and collective purpose within the party.

Prince Ogundipe also reiterated the party’s alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second-term ambition, calling it a collective mandate for progressives across the country.

Speaking at the meeting, former Ona-Ara Local Government Chairman, Hon. Biliaminu Ogundele, emphasized the need for internal cohesion, noting that no single faction could secure electoral victory alone. He acknowledged the presence of party figures such as Hon. Yinka Folarin, Hon. Shina Adeagbo, and Hon. Bola Fawole.

From Egbeda LGA, party chieftain Alhaji Agbedo urged the electorate in the constituency to throw their weight behind Hon. Akinola Kazeem. He praised Kazeem’s dedication to education, welfare, and community development.

Addressing journalists, Hon. Kazeem expressed delight at the turnout, saying, “This is a familiar ground for me. I’ve been a loyal party man over the years, and this is the time to step forward. I’m formally declaring my aspiration to represent Egbeda/Ona-Ara in the House of Representatives come 2027. I appreciate the support I’ve received so far and do not take it lightly.”

He further noted the need for political equity, emphasizing that Ona-Ara deserves its turn to produce the next representative after Egbeda’s eight-year run.

In a gesture that drew applause, Kazeem celebrated the defection of several PDP members across all 11 wards in Ona-Ara LGA and announced a cash donation to support party activities at the ward level.
