EFCC Questions Iyabo Ojo Over Currency Spraying at Daughter’s Lavish Wedding

Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has revealed that she was recently interrogated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over money spraying at her daughter’s high-profile wedding.

In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Ojo, popularly known as the “Queen Mother,” disclosed that the EFCC reached out to her while she was in the UK. Upon her return to Nigeria, she honored their invitation and visited their office on May 5, 2025.

She stated that the EFCC questioned her about her personal background, profession, and more specifically, her daughter Priscilla’s wedding to Tanzanian singer Juma Jux, which took place last month.

According to Ojo, officials presented her with video footage showing guests spraying both naira and foreign currencies during the ceremony.

“I was aware that defacing the naira is an offense, but I honestly didn’t know that spraying foreign currency is also against the law,” she said.

The EFCC reportedly clarified that spraying any form of legal tender—naira or foreign currency—at events is a violation of Nigeria’s financial regulations.

Ojo concluded by urging the public to avoid currency spraying at social gatherings, stressing the importance of staying informed and compliant with financial laws.
