Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has offered insights into why he perceives himself as being “hated” within the music industry. He attributes this animosity to his “inferiors” resenting him due to the absence of any apparent “superiors” in his league. The controversial singer shared this sentiment on his X handle last Saturday, stating, “Hated by my inferiors for having no superiors,” accompanied by a photo of himself.
Burna Boy has consistently expressed a belief in facing disdain from fellow Nigerians. In a track titled ‘Thank You’ from his recent album, ‘I Told Them,’ he hinted that despite consistently bringing pride to the country, he feels undervalued by his compatriots. Burna Boy laments that instead of receiving acknowledgment for his significant musical contributions to the nation, rumors circulate about his mother’s alleged involvement as one of the dancers of the late Afrobeat pioneer, Fela Kuti. Additionally, speculations suggest that his supposed lack of a baby mama, unlike many of his colleagues, may be attributed to impotency.
