Tyson Fury has criticized Anthony Joshua’s desire to have a fight with Deontay Wilder on the same undercard as his upcoming clash with Oleksandr Usyk.
The Gypsy King is currently gearing up for his highly anticipated crossover bout with former UFC Champion Francis Ngannou, scheduled for this Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Fury also has a contractual commitment to face Usyk in a battle for the undisputed heavyweight world title, set to take place later this year in the Middle East.
Since both fights are slated for Saudi Arabia, there have been speculations about Joshua’s bout with Wilder potentially occurring in the same location, and Joshua himself has hinted at the possibility of it being part of the Fury-Usyk undercard.
However, Fury has swiftly dismissed these claims, branding Joshua as an “embarrassment” for seemingly “begging” to be included on the card. He told IFLTV, “It’s rather embarrassing when you have a former heavyweight world champion pleading for a fight, requesting a spot on the undercard. Is he behaving like a child? Does he want to be part of my undercard? Him versus Wilder? The battle of the biggest loser? He should go and arrange his own event.”
While the Fury-Usyk fight is scheduled for December, no official date has been confirmed for the match as of now.
