Internationally acclaimed South African actress Connie Chiume has passed away at the age of 72.
Chiume, renowned for her roles in *Black Panther* and *Wakanda Forever*, died on Tuesday at Garden City Hospital.
Her family announced her death in a statement, saying, “The Chiume Family regrets to inform you of the passing of internationally acclaimed award-winning actress Connie Chiume. Connie, 72, died today, August 6, 2024, at Garden City Hospital. The family will provide further details and requests privacy during this difficult time.”
Chiume earned recognition for her performances in popular TV shows such as *Mohlolohadi*, *Zone 14*, *Yizo Yizo*, *Rhythm City*, *Housekeepers*, and *Grassroots*. She also made notable appearances in the hit series *Gomora* and Beyoncé’s film *Black Is King*.
