Leon Balogun expressed his gratitude for the privilege of winning another trophy with Scottish Premiership powerhouse Rangers. Balogun played a crucial role as Rangers secured a 1-0 victory over Aberdeen at Hampden Park on Sunday, claiming their 28th Scottish League Cup title.
This marked the third silverware for the Nigerian center-back during his time with the Gers. In his initial stint at Ibrox Stadium, Balogun had already clinched the Scottish Premiership title and the FA Cup. Reflecting on the recent triumph, Balogun conveyed his joy in every moment of lifting the trophy.
“When I left the first time, for me, it is the most special time I had in my career, and that will never change,” he shared with Rangers TV. “It is a privilege for me to be here at this stage of my career and to be winning silverware again.”
Balogun expressed admiration for the dedicated Rangers fans, describing them as second to none. He acknowledged the unique atmosphere they create, emphasizing the significance of their positive reactions. Content and happy, Balogun looks forward to continuing his contributions when Rangers face St Johnstone in a league clash on Wednesday.
