Basketmouth explains why AY won’t be performing at my show

Popular comedian Bright Okpocha, also known as Basketmouth, has extended an invitation to his former rival and colleague, AY Makun, to attend his upcoming concert in Lagos this Sunday. This comes weeks after Basketmouth publicly apologized to AY, putting an end to their 17-year-old feud.

Despite the reconciliation, Basketmouth clarified that AY won’t be performing or making a cameo on stage at the event, which is scheduled to take place at the Eko Hotel & Suites tonight. According to Basketmouth, the show is meticulously scripted, and AY’s participation is not part of the planned performances.

In a recent interview with Arise TV, Basketmouth stated, “AY is not on the bill to perform, but he has got a ticket. He’s attending. I sent him his ticket a few days ago. In actual fact, I don’t have that many comedians on the bill.”

He went on to explain the lineup for the event, mentioning that Bovi is set to introduce him, with comedians like Senator, Dan The Humorous, and Aproko from Abuja scheduled to perform. Basketmouth also revealed the inclusion of talent from Ghana. However, he emphasized that AY won’t make a cameo appearance due to the precisely planned nature of the show, which is being recorded for television. The production team, recently arriving in the country, has already finalized the show’s structure, ensuring a timed and perfectly executed three-hour set.
