In the wake of a raid by a gang of bandits in the Kidandan community within the Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State, a significant number of locals have fled their ancestral homes.
During the raid, the bandits unleashed hours of gunfire, tragically claiming the lives of several community members and subsequently abducting others.
Reportedly, the bandits turned aggressive after local farmers were unable to meet levies that had been imposed on them earlier.
This incident in Kidandan occurred shortly after an Army Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) bombed residents in Tudun Biri village of Igabi Local Government Area, adding to the ongoing tension in the region.
According to a source who spoke to NAIJAHOOD, “Kidandan has been under siege for the past six days. These attacks have been relentless, instilling terror, looting, and resulting in abductions. Fear has gripped every resident in Kidandan.”
The source elaborated that numerous women and children are leaving en masse, seeking safety and refuge elsewhere due to the alarming insecurity.
As of now, the Kaduna State Police Command has not issued a statement regarding the incident.
