Renowned musician Stanley Omah Didia, known by his stage name Omah Lay, recently disclosed that he once contemplated converting to Islam despite being raised in a Christian household. However, he now asserts that religion holds less significance in his life.
In an interview with media personality Wunmi Bello, Omah Lay shared, “When I began earning money, my perspective shifted. I developed a deep belief in God and adopted a more humane approach, detached from religious affiliations. I no longer find solace in strict adherence to religious doctrines.”
Omah Lay’s upbringing was rooted in Christianity, and he spent a significant amount of his formative years within the confines of the church. At one juncture, he even considered embracing Islam. Nevertheless, he has since reached a point in his life where it’s a personal connection with God that matters most to him, rather than any specific religious doctrine. He elaborated on his journey, stating, “I’ve grown up in a Christian environment and have been deeply involved in church activities. However, now I’ve reached a juncture where it’s just me and my connection with God, transcending the boundaries of religion. I admit I don’t possess a comprehensive understanding of religious texts. While the teachings in these holy books may resonate with truth, I struggle to find concrete evidence that they were divinely written.
