APC’s Ododo emerges victorious in Kogi governorship election, declares INEC.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially declared Usman Ododo, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the victor in the Kogi State governorship election.

Prof Johnson Urama, the state returning officer and deputy vice-chancellor (Academics) of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, made the announcement at 10:23 pm on Sunday. According to Mr. Urama, Usman Ododo met all legal requirements and secured a total of 446,237 votes, while Murtala Ajaka, the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), garnered 259,052 votes.

Dino Melaye, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, secured the third position with a total of 46,362 votes in the election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) initially scheduled elections for 59 polling units in the Ogori/Magongo Local Government Area of Kogi State to take place on Saturday, November 18.

Mohammed Haruna, the spokesperson for INEC, declared this information in a statement released on Sunday evening.
