Akeredolu died of protracted prostate cancer in Germany – Ondo Govt

The Ondo State Government has disclosed the reason behind the passing of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu. Additionally, it was revealed that the governor breathed his last in Germany.

On Wednesday, December 27, 2023, Governor Akeredolu, aged 67, passed away. Despite widespread reports attributing his death to a prolonged battle with blood cancer, specifically leukemia, the Ondo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Bamidele Ademola-Olateju, clarified the circumstances surrounding the governor’s demise.

In a statement issued on the same day, Ademola-Olateju stated, “Akeredolu answered the eternal call while undergoing medical treatment in Germany. He succumbed to complications arising from protracted prostate cancer. The family and the state government will provide additional details concerning his funeral arrangements.”
