The governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has consolidated various taxes and levies collected by different government entities across all business sectors, both formal and informal, into a single bill. Emphasizing his commitment to improved government services, the governor highlighted the implementation of automation systems.
These systems include the Government Assets and Utility Management System, facilitating the renting and leasing of government properties and assets. The administration has also introduced initiatives like the CofO in 45 days program, electronic affidavit system, electronic state of origin and local government area of origin portal, mobile tax stations, and seamless online payment systems for taxes.
Governor Adeleke explained that this proactive approach aims to address the persistent challenges of multiple taxation faced by taxpayers in the state. The harmonized bill streamlines all levies, requiring businesses to make a single annual payment. The governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, emphasized that this innovative initiative allows for flexible and convenient payments, whether in equal or unequal tranches.
