Abia panel submits report on alleged corrupt monarchs

The Board of Inquiry set up by Abia State government to investigate allegations of improper conduct levelled against some traditional rulers in the State has submitted its report.

 

Receiving the report in his office, Abia State commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Prince Uzor Nwachukwu congratulated the Chairman and the board members for their brevity throughout the period they carried out their investigations.

 

Nwachukwu praised the board for the high level of capacity and tenacity they exhibited in carrying out the assignment despite various challenges and limitations and assured them that their recommendations would be properly looked into.

 

 

The commissioner further conveyed the gratitude of Governor Alex Otti to the chairman and members of the Board of Inquiry for a job well done.

 

Submitting the findings of the Board to the Commissioner, the Chairman of the Board, Justice Igbo Akomas (Rtd) prayed the State government to look into the recommendations and take the necessary actions required.

 

Justice Akomas thanked the State government for finding them worthy to carry out the assignment and thanked all who contributed to the successful completion of the inquiry, particularly, the Chairman of the Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Linus Mba and the Attorney General/Commissioner for Justice, Ikechukwu Uwanna.
