Agents from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) apprehended Godwin Emuneyin, a 45-year-old notorious drug dealer with physical disabilities, in Afuze, the headquarters of Owan East local government area in Edo state. Emuneyin, who used his wheelchair as a disguise, was arrested on Tuesday, November 7, based on credible intelligence.
According to Femi Babafemi, the spokesperson for the agency, at the time of the arrest, a wooden box containing illicit substances was seized. The recovered items included 18 pinches of methamphetamine, one block, and 71 wraps of cannabis.
In additional anti-drug operations in Edo state, NDLEA operatives on Monday, November 6, discovered 42 bags of cannabis weighing 480 kilograms at a camp in Aviosi forest in Owan West LGA. Simultaneously, the Utese forest in Ovia North East LGA was raided, resulting in the recovery of 231.5 kilograms of the substance. Additionally, a cannabis farm spanning 0.778960 hectares was destroyed during the operation.
