A Nigerian wigmaker has recently set a new Guinness World Record for creating the longest handmade wig, as confirmed by Guinness World Records in a statement released on Tuesday. Employing a unique approach, she crafted the foundation using wig-cap netting and black fabric attached to a bicycle helmet. The impressive hairpiece, measuring 351.28 meters (1,152 ft 5 in), was fashioned using 1,000 bundles of hair, along with 12 cans of hair spray, 35 tubes of hair glue, and 6,250 hair clips.
Helen, the talented wigmaker behind this achievement, dedicated 11 days and over two million naira (£2,031; $2,493) to the meticulous construction of the record-breaking wig. With eight years of professional experience in wig making, Helen typically produces between 50 to 300 wigs per week. Beyond her individual accomplishments, she has also contributed to the industry by training hundreds of students and crafting thousands of wigs throughout her career.
