A 62-year-old woman was tragically slain in a brutal attack at her home in Ondo.

Unknown attackers have fatally assaulted Mrs. Iyanuoluwa Adamolekun, a 62-year-old retired teacher, in Arigidi Akoko, located in the Akoko North-West Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Reports indicate that the woman’s lifeless body was discovered in her residence at Similoluwa quarters in Arigidi Akoko on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, lying in a pool of blood. Her granddaughter, returning from school on that fateful day, raised an alarm, prompting neighbors to witness the grim scene.

As of the time of this report, the circumstances surrounding the sudden death remain unclear. However, a local resident, Justice Ayebogan, refuted suggestions that the incident involved ritualistic motives. He also revealed that the assailants made off with her phone and belongings.

The victim’s son, Mr. Rotimi Adamolekun, expressed shock and disbelief, describing his mother as an easy-going, religious, and caring individual. He questioned who could commit such a heinous act against her.

The deceased’s body has been taken to the morgue, and the family has reported the case to the police for further investigation.
