Delta Police Arrest 50-Year-Old Man for Defiling 4-Year-Old Girl

A 50-year-old man has been arrested by the Delta State Police Command for allegedly defiling a four-year-old girl in Ubulu-Uku. The incident occurred on Thursday when the child was sent to her grandmother’s house by her mother.

According to human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu, the suspect was arrested on Friday after the child’s mother reported the abuse. The child was taken to a hospital where medical examination confirmed the assault.

The suspect is currently detained at the Divisional Police Headquarters in Ogwashi Uku and will be transferred to the State Police headquarters for further investigation.

The child’s mother recounted the ordeal, stating that she had sent her daughter to her grandmother’s house while she attended church. Upon returning home, she noticed that the child was in pain and discovered evidence of the assault.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Edafe Bright, confirmed the arrest and ongoing investigation.
