Preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Lesotho commenced in Uyo for the Super Eagles. The entire squad, consisting of 23 players, actively participated in the training session held at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.
On Monday, six players joined the team’s camp, while the remaining 17 players united with their teammates on Tuesday. Amas Obasogie, the goalkeeper from Bendel Insurance, was the final player to arrive at the Four Points Hotel base, stepping in as a late replacement for the injured Maduka Okoye.
The team is scheduled to undergo their final training session on Wednesday in preparation for the upcoming match. The encounter against Lesotho is set to take place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Thursday.
Following this fixture, Jose Peseiro’s side will face the Warriors of Zimbabwe at the Huye Stadium in Butare on Sunday.
