Cardi B Announces New Album Am I the Drama?
Cardi B has officially revealed details of her long anticipated follow-up to her 2018 debut Invasion of Privacy. The new album, titled Am I the Drama? will be released on September 19 through Atlantic Records. It will include 23 tracks, featuring singles such as Outside Up and the chart topping hit WAP.
The announcement follows the release of Outside Cardi B’s first solo single in over a year. The track was produced by Charlie Heat and HeyMicki with additional production from DJ SwanQo. Shortly after its release Cardi B shared a message reflecting on her career and personal growth expressing that the new project represents a bold and defining chapter.
Prior to Outside she released Enough (Miami) in 2021 marking her first solo single since Up. Over the past few years she has collaborated on high profile tracks including Bongos with Megan Thee Stallion Put It on da Floor Again with Latto and features with Kanye West Glorilla Kay Flock and Rosalía. Her 2020 single WAP featuring Megan Thee Stallion became one of her most successful releases since her debut.
Although fans expected an album soon after the success of WAP the project experienced delays. In late 2022 Cardi B addressed fan anticipation by sharing a lighthearted clip of an unreleased song after reports of a leak surfaced.
Beyond music, Cardi B has taken part in several projects and appearances, including interviews with political figures, a planned acting role in the comedy film Assisted Living, and the Facebook Watch series Cardi Tries, where she explored activities such as ballet, gaming, ranching, and stunt diving.
With Am I the Drama? Cardi B returns with a full length album that reflects her evolution as an artist and performer.
