R. Kelly Files Lawsuit Against U.S. Prison Authorities Alleging Unauthorized Disclosure of His Personal Information.

R. Kelly, the disgraced R&B singer, has initiated legal action against officials of the US federal prison system, accusing them of disclosing his private information to an Internet blogger.

The imprisoned musician filed a complaint against the United States government, several Bureau of Prisons (BOP) employees, and blogger Tasha K. He alleges a conspiracy to publicize his personal issues during his custody in Chicago.

Kelly contends that three anonymous BOP officials at the facility where he was held accessed internal systems, monitoring his activities within the confines of the prison. This included email communication, private calls, visitor records, and more.

Both Kelly and his attorney, Jennifer Bonjean, assert that these officials had an arrangement with Tasha K to provide her with Kelly’s personal details in exchange for financial compensation.

The artist asserts that the information acquired by Tasha, known for her substantial YouTube following, has damaged his reputation, violated his privacy, and caused considerable mental distress.

Kelly further argues that the United States government was negligent in allowing its prison personnel to allegedly access and disseminate this information. As a remedy, he is seeking substantial monetary damages.

Tasha K has previously addressed these accusations, which Kelly made public years prior to this legal complaint, and has consistently denied any involvement in criminal activities.

It’s important to note that Kelly’s claims date back to 2019, and he has been in custody since his conviction in the Chicago case.
